  1. Core Objective: Defend Your Home Against Mutated Zombies As the game’s foundational goal, you’ll defend Dave’s home across diverse level scenarios by growing plants to build a solid defense line. Block every invasion path to ensure no zombies reach the end. Complete levels by either keeping your defense intact or safeguarding key entry points until all zombies are eliminated.
  2. Strategic Advancement Objective: Unlock & Master the Mutation System Progress through levels and claim rewards to unlock the plant mutation system. Upgrade your plants to unlock unique special abilities, and tailor your mutation choices to counter different zombie types. Optimize your defense efficiency by matching mutated plant skills to each level’s challenges, turning every playthrough into a fresh strategic puzzle.

How to Play

  1. Resource & Planting: Sunlight is the core resource—collect it automatically by planting Sunflowers. Each plant costs sunlight and must be placed on lawn grids. For pools/rooftops, place pots first before planting.
  2. Victory & Defeat: Victory: Fend off multiple zombie waves, eliminate all zombies, and stop none from breaching the line. Defeat: Zombies break through, all plants are destroyed, or key props are damaged. Some levels have one-time Lawn Mowers to clear a path’s zombies—use wisely.
  3. Plant Food System: Plant Food drops randomly in levels. Feed it to plants for powerful ultimate moves. Match moves to zombie types—only one ultimate can be activated at a time.

Game Controls

Plant plants with the mouse: Click a plant from the panel, then select the target grid to place it.

Frequently Asked Questions

First, identify core threats from the first two zombie waves. Prioritize piercing-attack plants if armored zombies appear frequently. For fast-charging or jumping zombies, use ice-type mutated plants to slow them down, paired with Wall-nuts for frontline interception. Use "terrain barrier tactics": place offensive-defensive plants in narrow paths and area-damage plants in open spaces. Keep 1-2 slots for emergency plants to handle sudden zombie swarms.

Start by planting 2-3 Sunflowers, and use basic Peashooters for defense. Avoid overspending on high-cost mutations early. Use "temporary sunlight boost" items in high-pressure levels to bypass planting limits temporarily.

Fog levels: Plant light-emitting plants first to illuminate key paths, avoiding ambushes from invisible zombies. Time Rift scenarios: Place "versatile defense combinations" on all paths to counter random cross-scene zombies. Use "time stop" tools to adjust lineups when rifts open.
